Winter2012 - A 3-Piece Forum Set Tutorial

To create this Set you will need:

A Tube and a Close-Up

Unplugged Effects - Tangent Deform

Filter Factory H - Reverb

Xenofex 2 - Constellation (optional)

DSB Flux - Bright Noise (optional)

Alien Skin Eye Candy 5 Textures - Texture Noise (optional)

Xero - Grayscaler (optional)

Made this thing a few different ways

Ready?

Let's Begin!

Choose a Light color for your FG

Choose a Dark color for your BG

Made a FG/BG Gradient on the FG

Angle 90 - Repeats 5

New Image - 600x600

Fill with your Gradient

Effects - Edge Effects - Enhance More - Twice

Duplicate - Rotate 90° Left

Change the Blend Mode to Luminance(Legacy)

Note: Changing the Blend won't work if you're using a B/W Gradient

as in the above Set- Instead Pull the Opacity down a little

Merge Visible

Resize to 600x400

Unplugged Effects - Tangent Deform

Use These Numbers from Top to Bottom

Duplicate Layer

Make this Custom Selection

Top - 133

Right - 600

Bottom - 265

Left - 0

Highlight the Top Layer

Delete - Deselect

Drop Shadow - 0, 0, 100 and 15

Highlight the Bottom Layer

Filter Factor H - Reverberations 110

Before we start playing with variations,

Let's get what we need for Forum Tag and Avatar

Shift+D - Twice

To make two copies of your Tag

On the First Copy

Resize to 300x200

Set the Crop Tool to 150x150

Move to the Center

Hit the Green Arrow to Apply

Set aside for Now

This is your Avi

On the Second Copy

Set the Crop Tool to 600x250

Move to the Center

Hit the Green Arrow to Apply

Set aside for Now

This is your Forum Tag

Ok, Let's finish our Tag

We're going to make the Border now

New Layer - Fill with a Light color

Select All - Contract 25 - Delete - Keep Selected

DSB Flux - Bright Noise - 29 - Mix Checked

New Layer - Fill with a Dark Color

Contract Selection 15 - Delete

Deselect

Drop Shadow - 0, 0, 100 and 20

New Layer - Fill with a Dark Color

Contract Selection 3 - Delete

Deselect

Drop Shadow - 0, 0, 100 and 20

Add your Tube now and give it a Blurry Drop Shadow

I used -20, -20, 100 and 70

Add your Name, CR Info and License Number

Now Let's play around with Variations

For the Top Sample

Duplicate the BG Layer Twice for a Total of 3 Layers

On Each of these Layers

Xenofex 2 - Constellation

Hit the Random Seed Button once for each Layer

To Animate:

Edit - Copy Merged

Open Animation Shop

Edit - Paste as New Animation

Back in PSP

Hide the Top BG Layer

Edit - Copy Merged

In Animation Shop

Edit - Paste After Current Frame

Back in PSP

Hide the Middle BG Layer

Edit - Copy Merged

In Animation Shop

Edit - Paste After Current Frame

Save as a Gif

Animate the Forum Tag and Avi the same way

For the Sample at the Bottom

New Layer - Fill with a Dark Color

Contract Selection 2 - Delete

Deselect

Drop Shadow - 0, 0, 100 and 20

Then add your Tube, Name, CR and License#

Duplicate the BG Layer Twice for a Total of 3 Layers

On Each of these Layers

Xero - Grayscaler - Default Settings

Then on each BG Layer

Alien Skin Eye Candy 5 Textures - Texture Noise

Then - DSB Flux - Bright Noise - 45 - Mix

Hit the Mix Button once for each Layer

To Animate:

Edit - Copy Merged

Open Animation Shop

Edit - Paste as New Animation

Back in PSP

Hide the Top BG Layer

Edit - Copy Merged

In Animation Shop

Edit - Paste After Current Frame

Back in PSP

Hide the Middle BG Layer

Edit - Copy Merged

In Animation Shop

Edit - Paste After Current Frame

Edit - Select All - Animation - Frame Properties

Change the frame rate to 35

Save as a Gif

Animate the Forum Tag and Avi the same way
