To create this Set you will need: A Tube and a Close-up by the same Artist I used art by Jennifer Janesko Tubes and License available from CDO No outside filters are needed
Ready? Let's begin! Choose a Light Color for your FG Make your BG Black or a very Dark Color from your Tube Make this Gradient on the FG We're goint to start with the Regular Tag New Image - 600x400 Fill with your Gradient Adjust - Add Noise Uniform - 14 - Mono Checked Adjust - Blur - Motion Blur Angle 90 - Strength 50 Effects - Edge Effects - Enhance Effects - Distortion Effects - Wave Apply the Wave Effect Twice
New Layer Rectangular Selection Tool Make two Thin Selections like this: Fill the Left one with your Dark Color Fill the other one with your Light Color Deselect
Effects - Distortion Effects - Wave Duplicate Layer - Mirror
Copy your Close-up and Paste as a New Layer Drag it to just above the BG Layer This next part is completely dependent on the Tube
Move your Stripes so they Frame your Image like this:
Merge your Two stripes Layers together Use your Pick Tool Handles to Pull the Stripes All the way past the Top and Bottom Crop your Tag
Take your Magic Wand and Click in Between your Stripes Selections - Modify - Expand 1 Selections - Invert Highlight your Close-Up layer - Delete Selections - Invert Highlight your BG Layer Promote Selection to Layer - Deselect
Effects - Texture Effects - Weave 1, 3 and 1 - Weave and Gap your Dark Color - Fill Checked Highlight your Close-Up layer Change the Blend Mode to Luminance Pull the Opacity down to 60
Hide the BG Layer - Merge Visible Drop Shadow - 20, 20, 100 and 100
**Note: You may have to adjust the amount of the Drop Shadow depending how dark or light your Tag is - Do whatever looks good to you**
Un-hide the BG Layer Copy your Tube and Paste as a New Layer Arrange - Bring to Top Position as Desired - Same Drop Shadow Crop your Tag
New Layer - Fill with Dark Color Select All - Contract 2 - Delete - Deselect
Hide your Top Tube Layer so you can see what your doing Highlight your Framed Image Layer Duplicate this Layer Twice for a Total of Three Layers
Magic Wand Tool Add(shift) - RGB Value - Tolerance and Feather 0 Contiguous and Anti-alias checked Click inside the Light Colored Stripes
Starting with the Top Framed Image Layer - Keep Selected Uniform - 40% - Mono checked Next Layer down - Change the Number to 44% Next Layer down - Change the Number to 48% Deselect - Hide the Top Two of these Layers
Unhide your Top Tube Layer Add your Name, CR info and License#
Now we're going to get what we need for the Forum Tag and Avatar
Shift+D to Copy your Tag Twice
On the First Copy Delete the Border Layer
You're going to want to move things around, So you'll have to Link your Three Framed Image Layers So your Animation Doesn't look Jerky Highlight the Top Framed layer In your Layer Palette, look for this Button Click where it says NONE Do this for all Three Framed Image Layers Now your Layer Palette should look like this:
Make this Custom Selection Now you will want to move your Elements around so they look the way you want inside the Selection Once you're satisfied - Crop to Selection Before you move on, you'll have to UN-link your Framed Image Layers
Highlight Each Layer and Click the Link Box Until it says NONE You'll see that the little blue links are gone
New Layer - Fill with Dark Color Select All - Contract 2 - Delete - Deselect Add your Name, CR info and License# Animate the same as for the Tag This is your Forum Sized Tag
On the Second Copy Remove the Border Layer Set your Crop Tool to 150x150 Move to where you want it Hit the green check to apply New Layer - Fill with Dark Color Select All - Contract 2 - Delete - Deselect Add your Initial, CR Info and License# Animate the same as for the Tag This is your Avatar
ANIMATION Fire up Animation Shop(AS) In PSP - Copy Merged In AS - Paste as a New Animation Back in PSP - Hide the Bottom Frame Layer and Unhide the Middle one In AS - Paste as After Current Frame Back in PSP - Hide the Middle Frame Layer and Unhide the Top one In AS - Paste as After Current Frame Edit - Select All View - Animation to check your work Save as a gif and you're Done!
