For this tutorial you will need-

PSP, of course-I used X2, but this can be done in any version

Kang 4> Batwave

An image I used the wonderful art of Emeraldus ©Emeraldus http://emeraldus.deviantart.com/

If you wish to use images by this artist, you must write for permission.

Ok, lets go!

New image 600x250, select all.

Open the image you want to use and paste it into the selection. Deselect.

Effects>Distortion Effects>Pixillate, 10, 10 Symmetric

Effects>Edge Effects>Enhance Duplicate layer-on the pixellated layer-

Effects>Distortion Effects>Wind, 100% from the right, then again from the left.

Top layer- Effects>Kang 4>Batwave From the top, 180, 124, 168, 98, 4, 42, 0, 7 Change blend mode to luminance(L), opacity 65

New layer Choose a color from your image and fill the new layer with that color.

Blend mode to color and pull down the opacity down a little. Now minimize this image.

Open your art that you're using and, using the crop tool, settings 250x250, crop out the part of your image that you want to be the focus.

New layer. Select all>modify>select selection borders>width 4. Fill the border with your chosen color.Deselect.

Drop Shadow, 2,2,45,5 then -2, -2, 45, 5. Merge visible.

Copy this and paste as new layer on your tag.

This next part depends on the image you're using.

Image> rotate> free rotate (single layer)45 either left or right depending on which you think looks best.

New layer, select all, image>crop to selection.

We do that to make sure that we have cropped off anything that is outside your tag.

Select all>modify>selection borders-border 4-fill with your chosen color. Deselect. Merge down.

With the magic wand, select the border around the outside and the border around the image. Same drop shadows.

On the layer underneath that one paste your image (not the one with the frame you made, the original image).

Move to the right. Blend mode screen or overlay. duplicate and mirror.

Hide the top layer with the frame and merge the rest of the layers together.

Before we finish the tag we need to get what we need for the avatar.

On the merged layer, use the rectangular selection tool and select the part you want to use as the avatar.

Copy and paste as a new image and minimize it, we will go back to it later.

On your tag, add your copyright info and your name and you are done!

Now for the avatar

Add a new layer. Make a selection border and fill it and drop shadow as before.

resize it if needed, then add your copyright and initial and you're done with that!

Here is the completed set :
