To create this Set you will need: A Tube and a Close-up by the same Artist I used art by Jennifer Janesko Tubes and License available from CDO No outside filters are needed
Ready? Let's begin! Choose a Light Color for your BG Make your BG Black or a very Dark Color from your Tube Make this Gradient on the FG
New Image - 600x10 Fill with your Gradient Image - Canvas Size 600x400 - Centered
Duplicate Layer Effects - Image Effects - Offset
Repeat this Process 5 times Until the Bottom Half of the Tag looks like this
Hide the Bottom Layer - Merge Visible Duplicate - Image - Flip Unhide the Bottom Layer - Merge Visible
Select All - Float - Defloat - Load/Save Selection Save Selection to Alpha Channel - Deselect
New Layer - Move to the Bottom Fill with your Light Color Adjust - Add Noise Gaussian - 17 - Mono Checked
Highlight the Top Layer Drop Shadow - 0, 0, 70 and 10 Shadow on New Layer CHECKED
Your Layer Palette should look like this:
Before you move on, you'll have to UN-link your Merged and Merged Shadow Layers
Highlight Each Layer and Click the Link Box Until it says NONE You'll see that the little blue links are gone
Highlight your Merged Shadow Layer and Merge Down
Copy your Close-Up and Paste as a New Layer Position as desired Drop Shadow - 20, 20, 100 and 100 Un-check Shadow on New Layer Change the Blend Mode to 60 - Opacity 70 or so
Copy your Tube and Paste as a New Layer Arrange - Bring to Top Position as desired Drop Shadow - 20, 20, 100 and 100
New Layer - Fill with Dark Color Select All - Contract 2 - Delete - Deselect
Crop your Tag Highlight the Layer with the gradient stripes Duplicate this Layer Twice for a total of Three Layers Highlight the Top one
Selections - Load/Save selections Load Selection from Alpha Channel
Effects - Illumination - Sunburst
Keep Selected Highlight the Middle Layer Effects - Illumination - Sunburst Move the Horizontal Slider to 50 Keep Selected Highlight the Bottom Layer Effects - Illumination - Sunburst Move the Horizontal Slider to 100 Deselect Hide the Top Two Sunburst Layers for now
Now let's get what we need For the Forum Sized Tag and Avatar Shift+D - Twice to make two copies of your Tag
On the First Copy Remove the Border Layer Make a Custom Selection
The reason we're doing this instead of just Cropping it, is that you may want to move your Tubes around to create the look you want Once you're happy - Image - Crop to Selection New Layer - Fill with Dark Color Select All - Contract 2 - Delete - Deselect Add your Name, CR Info and License# Animate the same as the Tag This is your Forum Sized Tag
On the Second Copy Remove Art and Border layers Crop Tool - 150x150 Move to where you want it and click the green arrow to apply New Layer - Fill with Dark Color Select All - Contract 2 - Delete - Deselect Add your Initial and CR Info and License# This is your Avatar
Back to your Tag Highlight the Top Layer Add your Name, CR Info and License#
Animation Fire up Animation Shop(AS) In PSP - Copy Merged In AS - Paste as a New Animation Back in PSP Hide the Bottom Sunburst Layer and Unhide the Middle one Edit - Copy Merged In AS - Paste as After Current Frame Back in PSP - Hide the Middle Sunburst Layer and Unhide the Top one Edit - Copy Merged In AS - Paste as After Current Frame Edit - Select All - Animation - Frame Properties Change the Number to 50 Save as a Gif and you're Done!
