Squares Two - A 3 Piece Forum Set Tutorial

To create this Set you will need

A Tube and a Close-Up

I used Art by Barbara Jensen

Tubes and License Available at her Store

My Selection Here

DSB Flux - Bright Noise

Ready?

Let's Begin!

This one is Old School Easy

Unzip my Selection into your Selections Folder

Make your FG Black

Make your FG a Color from your Tube

New Image - 600x400

Fill with your Color

Effects - Texture Effects - Blinds

Width 2 - Opacity 30

Horizontal Un-Checked

Light from Left/Top Checked

Color White

New Layer

Selections - Load Selection from Disk

Load the SWWSquaresTwo Selection

Fill with Black - Keep Selected

New Layer

Fill with your Color - Deselect

Mirror and Flip your Colored Squares Layer

On your Colored Squares Layer

Select All - Float - Defloat

Copy your Close-Up

Paste as a New Layer

Move to where the Eyes show where you want them on the Left side

Paste your Close-Up again

Move to where the Eyes show where you want them on the Right side

Merge your Close -Up Layers together

Selections - Invert

Delete - Deselect

Change the Blend Mode to Luminance

Effects - Texture Effects - Weave

Gap 1 - Width 5 - Opacity 3

Weave and Gap White

Fill Gaps Checked

Merge down into the Colored Squares Layer

Crop to Merged Opaque

Duplicate this Layer Twice for a Total of Three Layers

On each of these

DSB Flux - Bright Noise

30 - Mix Checked

Hit the Mix Button once for each Layer

Hide the Top Two of these for now

On Both of your Squares Layers

Drop Shadow - 5, 5, 60 and 10

Copy your Tube and Paste as a New Layer

Drop Shadow - 5, 5, 60 and 10

Crop to Merged Opaque

New Layer

Move to just under your Tube Layer

Fill with Black

Select All - Contract 5 - Delete

Expand 2 - Invert - Fill with your Color - Deselect

Drop Shadow - 0, 0, 60 and 10

Add your Name, CR info and License#

Let's get what we need for the Forum Tag and Avi

Shift+D to Copy your Tag Twice

On the First Copy

Delete all Layers except for the Bottom Colored Squares Layer

And the Black Squares Layer

Using your Rectangular Selection Tool

Draw out a Rectangle around the Top Two Squares on the Left

Image - Crop to Selection

Now you should have something that looks like this

Resize this to 150px on the longest side

Add your Name and CR Info

Save as a PNG

This is your Avatar

On the Second Copy

Delete the Border

Custom Selection

Move the Elements of your Tag around

Inside the Selection

Crop to Selection

Add the Border

This is your Forum Tag

Set this aside for now

Animation

The top two Bright Noise Layers should be hidden

If Not, Hide them Now

Edit - Copy

Open Animation Shop

Edit - Paste as New Animation

Back in PSP

Hide the Bottom Bright Noise Layer

Un-hide the Middle one

Edit - Copy

In Animation Shop

Edit - Paste After Current Frame

Back in PSP

Hide the Middle Bright Noise Layer

Un-hide the Top one

Edit - Copy

In Animation Shop

Edit - Paste After Current Frame

Save as a Gif

Animate the Forum Tag the same way

And you're Done!
