Squares - A Forum Set Tutorial

To create this set, you will need:

PSP and Animation Shop

Both Available from Corel

A Tube

I used art by Ismael Rac

Tubes and License available at his Store

MuRa's Meister - Copies

DSB Flux - Bright Noise

Ready?

Let's Begin!

Make your FG a medium color from your Tube

Make your BG black or a really dark color from your Tube

New Image - 600x250

Fill with your color

Effects - Texture Effects - Weave

2, 3, 10 - Fill Gaps checked - Both color boxes white

Effects - Edge Effects - Enhance

Adjust - Blur - Motion Blur

45 - 100%

Effects - Edge Effects - Enhance

Rectangle Tool

Create on Vector checked - Width 6

Place your cursor at X-223, Y-62 - Click and Hold

Drag to X-288, Y-127 and let go

Objects - Align - Center in Canvas

Convert to Raster

Drop Shadow - 0, 0, 45, 2

MuRa's Meister - Copies - Tiling (Feedback)

Change the Number to 4 and the Tile Gap to 6

Drop Shadow - 0, 0, 45, 2

Duplicate this Layer Twice for a total of Three Layers

Highlight the top Layer

See how it looks like there are a bunch

of Squares piled on top of each other?

Get out your Magic Wand Tool

Add(Shift) - RGB Value - Tolerance 0 - Feather 0

Click in the Black areas in the Squares on Top

Copy your Tube and Paste as a New Layer

Move it so it's filling a few Squares

Repeat this until you have some part of the Tube

Showing in every Selected Square

Merge all of your Tube Layers together

Change the Blend Mode to Luminance - Opacity to 50

Selections Invert - Delete - Deselect

Crop your Tag to 600x250

Highlight your bottom Squares Layer

Magic Wand Tool - Set up same as before

Click in an area where your color shows

Selections - Modify - Select Color Range

Tolerance and Softness at 20

Click in the Reference Color Box

Then click in the Selected area on your Tag

Click ok

63 - Mix Checked

Highlight Next Squares Layer up

DSB Flux - Bright Noise

63 - Hit the Mix Button once

Highlight Top Squares Layer

DSB Flux - Bright Noise

63 - Hit the Mix Button once

Highlight Top Layer

Paste your Tube as a New Layer

Place where you want it - Drop Shadow of Choice

Crop your Tag

New Layer - Fill with your Dark Color (or Black)

Select All - Contract 2 - Delete - Deselect

Drop Shadow - 0, 0, 45, 2

Add your Name, CR info and License#

ANIMATION

Hide your top two DSB Flux layers - Edit - Copy Merged

In Animation shop - Edit- Paste as new animation

Back in PSP

Hide the bottom DSB Flux layer and unhide the middle one

Edit - Copy merged

In Animation shop - Edit - Paste after current frame

Back in PSP

Hide the middle DSB Flux layer and unhide the top one

Edit-copy merged

In Animation shop - Edit- Paste after current frame

View animation- If you like it, save as a gif and you're done!
