Pop Quiz

2/28/15

This Tutorial assumes that you have an Intermediate level of PSP Skills

For this Tag and the Sample at the bottom I used art by Keith Garvey

Tubes and License can be obtained HERE

You'll need a Tube and a Close-up

You'll need these Plug-ins

Plugin AB09 - 4 Corners of a Pop Quiz

AAA Frames - Foto Frame

I made this Tag in PSPX5

This Tutorial lends itself better to lighter colors

You may have to fiddle with Blend Modes and the Opacity settings to get the look you want

Ready?

Let's Begin!

First we're going to make a Pattern for the FG

Open your Tube

Use your Selection Tool to select an area of the tube that you like

As you can see in the above Tag, I selected an area around the armband

Copy - Deselect - Paste as a New Image

Effects - Image Effects - Seamless Tiling

Default Settings

Set this Image as your FG Pattern at 100%

Choose a Light Color for your FG

Choose a Dark Color for your BG

On the BG make a FG/BG Gradient

Radial - 45/5

New Image - 600x600

Fill with the Gradient

Plugin AB09 - 4 Corners of a Pop Quiz - Default

Enhance Edges

New Layer

Fill with the Gradient

Lower the Opacity to around 60

Merge Visible

New Layer - Fill with the Pattern

AAA Frames - Foto Frame

Default Settings except Change Stroke to 1 and Opacity to 30

Select All - Contract 40 - Delete - Deselect

Duplicate this Layer and Hide the Top one

On the Original - Effects - Distortion Effects - Wave

***NOTE - This will look different than my Tag, due to the difference in the Tile you made

If you want yours to look exactly like mine, you can use the element below

Right-click and save to your own computer and colorize to match your Tag***

Play around with the dice though, you may find something you like even better

Give this a thin Drop Shadow - 1, 1, 100, 1

Duplicate this Layer Twice for a Total of 3

Hide the Bottom 2

Unhide the Top Pattern Layer and Select it

Paste your Close-up

Move below the Top Pattern Layer

Change the Blend Mode to Screen or something else you like better

Select the Top Layer

Paste your Tube and move into position

Give it a suitable Drop Shadow

Crop to Merged Opaque

Add your Name and Copyright Info and License

If you want a Static Tag, save as a Gif and you're done!
