Old School Tag - Come Play with Me

To create this Tag you will need:

A Tube and a Close-up

I used art by Ismael Rac

Tubes and License available from his Store

Alien Skin Eye Candy 5 - Textures - Texture Noise

My Mask

Just right click and save to your own computer

Ready?

Let's Begin!

Open your Tubes and My Mask in PSP

New Image - 600x600

Fill with White

New Layer

Fill with Black or a Dark color from your Tube

Layers - New Mask Layer - From Image

Merge Group

You can close SWWMask155 now as we don't need it anymore

Choose Two Colors from your Tube for your FG/BG

Ellipse Tool - Set up like this:

Draw out a Large Circle

Object - Align - Center in Canvas

Convert to Raster

Magic Wand Tool

Mode Add(Shift) - Match Mode RGB Value

Tolerance and Feather 0

Click in the Circle Border

Promote Selection to Layer

Highlight the first Circle Layer

Delete - Deselect

Duplicate the Circle Layer

On the Original

Adjust - Blur - Gaussian Blur - 10

On the Duplicate

Effects - Texture Effects - Blinds

Width 2 - Opacity 62 - Color White

Horizontal and Light from Top Checked

Change the Blend Mode to Screen

Still on the Duplicate Layer

Select All - Float - Defloat

Copy your Close-up and Paste as a New Layer

Position where you want it

Highlight the Close-up Layer

Invert Selection

Delete - Deselect

Change the Blend Mode to Luminance(L)

Pull down the Opacity to 55

Highlight your Mask Layer

Choose two other Colors for FG/BG

Rectangle Tool set up like this:

Draw out a Tall Rectangle on the Left Side

Convert to Raster

Duplicate - Mirror

Merge these Two Rectangles Together

Use your Magic Wand Tool to Select Both Rectangle Borders

Promote Selection to Layer

Highlight the Rectangles Layer

Delete - Deselect

Drop Shadow - 0, 0, 100 and 15

Highlight the Mask Layer

Choose two other Colors for FG/BG

Draw out a Taller Rectangle in the Center

Object - Align - Center in Canvas

Convert to Raster

Use your Magic Wand Tool to Select the Border

Promote Selection to Layer

Highlight the Rectangle Layer

Delete - Deselect

Drop Shadow - 0, 0, 100 and 15

Effects - Texture Effects - Weave

1, 4, 3 - Weave and Gap White - Fill Gaps Checked

On ALL of the Borders

Adjust - Add Noise

Uniform - Gaussian - 100%

Drop Shadow - 0, 0, 50 and 15

Highlight the Top Layer

Copy the Tube and Paste as a New Layer

Drop Shadow - 0, 0, 50 and 30

Word Art

I used Impact size 48

Type out whatever phrase you want

Pull on the handles to make it the size you want

Convert to Raster

Magic Wand Tool

Click inside each of the Letters

Adjust - Add Noise

Uniform - Gaussian - 100%

Drop Shadow - 0, 0, 50 and 30

If you're going to Resize, now is the time

Add your Name, CR info and License#

Now let's merge some Layers together

Hide the Background, Mask and the Layer with the Two Rectangles

Layers - Merge Visible

Merge the Mask and BG Layers Together

Set your Tag aside for now

Now we are going to make an Element to Embellish the Tag with

New Image - 600x600

Choose a Light Color to compliment your Tube

Pen Tool Set up like this:

Hold down the Shift Key and Draw a Vertical Line

Let go of the Shift Key and Convert to Raster

Hold down the Shift Key and Draw another Vertical Line

a little to the Right of and longer than the first one

Let go of the Shift Key and Convert to Raster

Hold down the Shift Key and Draw another Vertical Line

a little to the Right of and the same as the first one

Let go of the Shift Key and Convert to Raster

It should look like this:

I added a dark BG so you could see it better

Merge these three lines together

Adjust - Add Noise - Gaussian - 100%

Effects - Distortion Effects - Wave

Drop Shadow - 0, 0, 50 and 15

Copy this Element

Open the Tag and Paste as a New Layer

Move into Position on the Left

See Tag above for placement

Mirror and Merge the two Elements Together

Move this Layer to Just above the Mask Layer

ANIMATION

Duplicate the Two Rectangles Layer Twice for a total of Three Layers

On the Each of these Layers

Alien Skin Eye Candy 5 - Textures - Texture Noise

Hit the Random Seed Button once for each Layer

Hide the Top Two

Fire up Animation Shop(AS)

In PSP - Edit - Copy Merged

In AS

Edit - Paste as a New Animation

Back in PSP

Hide the Bottom Rectangles Layer - Unhide the Middle one

Edit - Copy Merged

In AS

Edit - Paste after current Frame

Back in PSP

Hide the Middle Rectangles Layer - Unhide the Top one

Edit - Copy Merged

In AS

Edit - Paste after current Frame

View - Animation to make sure it looks good

Save as a Gif
