Halftone Plaid - A Forum Set Tutorial

To create this Set you will need

A Tube

I used art by Jennifer Janesko

Tubes and License available from CDO

MuRa's Meister - Copies

Alien Skin Eye Candy 5 - Impact - Glass

DSB Flux - Bright Noise

Font of Choice - I used Always Regular

Ready?

Let's Begin!

New Image - 600x600

Copy your Tube and paste as a New Layer

MuRa's Meister - Copies

Wallpaper(Rotate) - Default Settings

Adjust - Blur - Motion Blur

45 degrees - 100%

Repeat 4 or 5 times

Effects - Edge Effects - Enhance - Twice

Duplicate Layer

Image - Mirror

Pull down the Opacity to 55-60

Merge Visible

Crop Tool

Set it to 600x250

Move your Crop Rectangle to the Top of the Tag

Hit the green check mark to apply the crop

New Layer

Fill with color of choice - anything but white

Effects - Artistic Effects - Halftone

Alien Skin Eye Candy 5 - Impact - Glass

** Some folks have had trouble replicating the

same look in the halftone Layer, so I have

made it and saved as a PNG for you

Just right-click and save it, then add as a new Layer to your Tag **

Effects - Image Effects - Offset

Duplicate

Image - Mirror - Image - Flip

Merge these two Layers Together

Drop Shadow - 1, 1, 100 and 3

Duplicate this Layer twice for a total of three Layers

On each of these

DSB Flux - Bright Noise

72 - Mix checked - Hit the Mix Button once for each layer

Hide the top two of these for now

New Layer - Send to Top

Custom Selection

Top - 120,Right - 600,

Bottom - 130,Left - 0

Fill with a darker color from your Tube

Deselect

Effects - Texture Effects - Blinds

Drop Shadow - 0, 0, 100 and 14

Copy your Tube and Paste as a New Layer

Send to Top

Place slightly off-center

Give it a blurry drop shadow

Crop your Tag

New Layer - Send to Top

Fill with a dark color from your Tube

Select All - Contract 1 - Delete - Deselect

Time to add your Name and CR Info

Animation

Fire up Animation Shop

In PSP

Edit - Copy Merged

In Animation Shop

Edit - Paste as New Animation

Back in PSP

Hide the Bottom Bright Noise Layer and Unhide the Middle one

Edit - Copy Merged

In Animation Shop

Edit - Paste after current Frame

Back in PSP

Hide the Middle Bright Noise Layer and Unhide the Top one

Edit - Copy Merged

In Animation Shop

Edit - Paste after current Frame

View - Animation to make sure it looks like you want

Save as a gif and you're Done!
